hey guys i have a 1990 ranger with a 302 in it. I have an aftermarket tach in it now but id like to hook the stock one up for more of a sleeper look.
Ive had the gauge cluster out and there is a pin on the back of the tach labelled "V8" which leads me to believe i can use it.
Ive done a bunch of reading and cant find anything definitive for the early second gen tachs. I know the later trucks can swap a wire to re calibrate the tach, could i do the same thing and does anybody know which wire?
Help would be good, thanks!

Baddad457 did that on his '89. Search around, he has a write up about it.

I did and couldnt find much. I am pretty positive I dont have any adjustment screws for my tach. Even if I do I think I'll keep the aftermarket tach in it then. I would think that an aftermarket tach reading off a v8 as intended would be more accurate than a v6 tach "calibrated".
