I have a 1987 Ford Ranger 4x4 STX. I am putting a 351w from a 1994 Ford F150. This isn't so much a question of how but what. Really would like some opinions.

Option #1; Splice the donor engine harness into my existing harness.

Option #2; Take the complete harness from the donor truck and install it in the Ranger.

Leaning towards option 2. I have the time and was going to re-do the interior anyway.

Opinions please, and thanks in advance.

Also the fi intake may not fit under the hood either. They are pretty tall for a ranger and may require hood modifications.

I can make it fit.

Just was wondering about the wiring. I think I'm going to swap the harnesses too. I want the truck to be dependable. So the less cutting around on the wiring harness the better. I was just wondering what others had done.

I swapped in a carbed/mechanical distributor V8....so it was simpler for me to splice OEM '89 Ford Ranger wiring to the "new engine/automatic transmission".

I guessing you need to do a complete wiring swap...I hope it goes smoothly...
