V8 Swap In 3.0 Ranger XLT 2WD

I have a 2002 3.0L V6 Ranger that I bought used which has 240k miles on it. It was previously engine swapped with a 2003 explored because the factory engine threw a rod out the side of the block. I was looking to get into something with more power just to mess around with and since this is my first engine swap I was looking for help with suggestions/what would fit, prices, and what all I will need to swap out, as far as drive train, Trans, mounts, etc. Any suggestions would help was thinking of maybe a 302 v8 or something along that.

5.0 from an explorer of the same vintage is the most common and easiest v8 swap.

Yeah. What he ^^^ said. You'll need full wiring harness, pcm and transmission to go with it. Best way is to buy the whole 5.0l Explorer so you have everything.

The last 5.0 Explorer was a 2001, in 02 they got the 4.6.
