Well considering im building a 347 stroker motor, after talking to the machinist, he recommends i find a 1,3/4'' tube header, long tubes if possible, now has any one tried putting the BBK Long tubes in the link below in the ranger, i will be 5 speed manual and 3'' body lift, think i will have room, or any one know what headers fit my needs and fit if you dont think i have a chance with theses?

All input welcome!

Thanks

Drivers side should point right at the output on the T-Case,dont think they will work.

well i picked theses up locally for a good deal, gonna try to fit them and if they dont, they will be easy to sell, here they are

Good luck with those fitting and take alot of pics so we all can see how it turns out. If they dont fit please take pics so we can see why they didnt.

Thanks and i will... i may be thinking the wrong way, but if there is room in the mustang for them, i am hopefull they will fit the ranger.

I'm doing a 3'' body lift in the truck as well. so im hoping to have room, so i will see... it will take me a while before i have the time to get to that point, but i will get there! :icon_welder:

Really!, 1 3/4 inch header pipes for a 347??? sure sounds too large to me unless your built way up and don`t plan on needing any bottom end. what was his rational for that large a dia pipe? KB

going with larger heads, i was told they were needed, think thay are too big, he told me to try and get 1 5/8'' to 1 3/4'' would be best for the 347 and dart sr heads

You can get 1 5/8" tri-y's with a 3" collector from Dougs, the Mustang application may actually be 1 5/8" with 2.5" collector, but they may fit most 2wd ibeam Rangers.

I guess we're currently discussing the viability of tri-y's on a 4x4.

I have cut 3 different sets of long tubes up in the last 2 years trying to make them fit with no luck. The only way is over the frame and out the fender well which is what I started building before I scored the Hookers that I have now.
Only way would be to re-index the T-Case and that would cause issues that I didn't care to address.

Not much of a discussion anymore IMO, major collision with the front driveshaft and you have to have the small bellhousing for it to clear the other side.

I had a set mounted up, but after seeing pics of them mounted and not willing to track down a small behousing so they are in the box to go back tomorrow.

Interesting, i'll see what happens, as i have time on my side. i wont be cutting theses up if they dont fit they dont fit, i already have interest in them as far as selling.

I have 1 5/8 long tubes on a 351 4x4. Yes they are a total beotch to make work. I honestly have no idea what they were for but when I saw them the looked to be close. The driver side needed hacked up and modified a lot but the fit great. I didn't notch any frame or dent any tubes but be ready for a lot of work. These are the only picsI have but you can get the idea
