Im interested in putting a 302 in my 94 ranger it currently has a 4.0 in it but am in need of conversion parts headers, oil filter relocator, and motor mounts. but i was told that advance adapter stuff is junk their headers are like tin cans and that if you dont stick with one company the parts wont fit with each other, trans dapt makes a kit for $345 which is more my price range rather than L and L products $1300 kit but its a 2wd kit and i need 4wd parts is there anyone else i should check out for conversion parts or does anyone have anything laying around....?

You'll save big money just picking and choosing the parts yourself. Stay away from the kits.

TransDapt is good for the motor mounts(#9536) and oil filter adapter(90*). Hedman 88400 for the headers and a Ford Explorer HD rad (91-94). That's the short list. If you want loads of power, make sure you can keep that engine cool. After all what good is it if you're sitting out on the trail while your motor cools down enough for you to limp home.

do those part numbers work for 4wd trucks? transdapt said they only make parts for 2wd conversions and the 9536 motor mounts dont come up on their website

You have a part # for the 90* oil filter relocation kit?

The block adapter number is 1413 you can look up the kit on Summit's website.

Got em ordered. Just need a rad and I can get this project going like I want to. Been putting it off for too long. Going to see if a rad shop can re-size the one off the donor car for me and make it narrower. Might be a lot cheaper than a new one, might not. Might not be possible.

What's next on the list, maybe finding a trans and x-fer case out of a F150. You should already have the 8.8 rear. Find the donor motor with wiring/computer

yea i already have a 302 ready to drop in its carbed and i was thinking about keeping the factory transfercase and just getting an adapter to get me from an aod trans to the bw1354 transfercase that way i don t have to get new driveshafts made

still need input on the conversion parts for a 4WD ranger

I guess just make a list of your questions that haven't been answered, sure you'll get some better responces doing that rather than a general list. Everyone has differerent ideas and directions.

Like Mac said, everyone has a different approach to this situation: I am running a GM TBI roller 302, T-18 4speed (low Granny version) a cutdown BW 1356 ( HOW exactly this thing was supposed to fit in the framerails, I never did figure out, so I cut it down for a double :) ), and a divorce mounted Dana 24 transfercase. Oh, and NO bodylift on this Ranger Supercab, either.
