V6 4.0 Aftermarket Cylinder Heads

I might have to replace one (both) cylinder head(s) in a 1999 4X4 Ranger with a V6 4.0 engine that currently shows signs of a blown gasket/cracked head. I'm considering aftermarket cylinder heads. Has anyone tried aftermarket heads? Does it offer better pricing for similar or perhaps even better performance & reliability?

I got a set of j&c heads a few months back off ebay , come with a warranty so far so good they were only 340.00 for the set shipped, auto store wanted that for one.they are suppose to be stronger than stock in the cracking areas

I live near J&C Cylinder Head Exchange. I can vouch that their machine work is top notch, but I dont have any first hand experience with their aftermarket castings.
