V in vin

Can someone please tell me what the V corresponds to on my 2000 ranger 3.0? I know the U means 3.0 but what does the V stand for? Thanks for the help.

The "V" is the 3.0L flex fuel version.

U= Regular fuel 3.0
V= Flex fuel capable 3.0

Thanks guys for the info but I'm also looking to see if it also means if I have the vulcan motor.

If you have a 3.0, in a Ranger its a "Vulcan". The Taurus came with the Vulcan 3.0 or the Dohc 3.0 that has nothing in common with the Vulcan 3.0
