Well I had the A/C Completely rebuilt on my 89 Ranger SC a couple of months ago. " Everything " was changed out with New parts and the system charged with 134a.

My A/C blows Cold but the amount of actual air moved by the blower motor doesnt seem very much compared to say my wifes 2000 mustang. Since I replaced both the blower motor and relay when I did the AC I have to assume it's working as designed.

I have heard that an explorer blower motor push's a lot more air at the various speed settings then the stock ranger blower motor and will fit the ranger perfectly.

Is there Any Truth to this. Has anybody done this swapout on Their Truck. I'm real interested in doing it but Only if the explorer blower motor push's a lot more air then a rangers. Thanks....

napa lists the same blower motor for both applications, i think someone was pulling your leg.

I thought this too (my '94 Ranger also seems to blow a bit harder than my BII). Its the same motor though (I did find a bunch of leaves & crap in the evap housing though, it got better after cleaning all the crap out of there).

If it's a big huge difference, check that the motor isn't wired up backwards (spinning the wrong way).

That's what Iwas gonna suggest, clear the leaves and crap out of the evap box.

Not nearly as much of a problem on a gen2-up as it is on a Gen1.
Gen1's have great big slots in the cowl
Gen2 and later have little round holes.

two or three times a year I have to pull my aircleaner to allow the
heater blower to be removed so I can reach inside the evap box
and remove the leaves from around the blower resistor.

So there is no advantage to having the explorer motor?

Looks like it would be a little stronger because it has to blow much more air to cool such a large interior.
