So i was sitting in my truck listening to Babe I'm Gonna Leave you, drinking Evan Williams and wondering why this beast goes though so many spark plug cables (And engines...) and i found a sticker on the floorboard that states "For use with 4.0 L engine only".

Now my drunken little brain can't seem to think of much in this truck that would warrant such a sticker. Anybody want to apease that nagging unknowing in my brain?

Is it actually stuck to the floorboard? Or is it an old sticker that just fell down and doesnt stick to the floor?

It came off the back of the instrument cluster. I've seen atleast a dozen of them.

Curious, given that the tach works just fine on a 4 cylinder (EDIS sends a generic tach signal to the cluster that is not tied to cylinder count).

I could very well be wrong. I had two 91 Explorers with the clusters out side by side. Both stickers in the same spot (tach), so I assumed this was why.

You could also be right, as I don't believe the tach was ever factory installed in 4 cylinder Rangers of that era. Might just be a reminder to the production line workers.
