Urine Or Your'e Out !!!!!

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their lazy butts, doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? Pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though . . . Something has to change in this country -- and soon!!!!!

That one's been circulating for awhile now. I agree... it would be cool too that if someone gives a child up to CPS that they get sterilized automatically. I would suggest the gov't even pay for it, as it would be cheaper in the long run. This friend of mine takes in foster kids and one of the kids has EIGHT brothers and sisters... ALL of which are in foster care... frikken slut. She just keeps on pukin' 'em out. The youngest is months old and it just continues.

I totally agree. But the state would prob spend the money on something else useless. maybe not your state.

I agree with the concept, however I believe it should apply to ALL people who get paid by the government. Let's start with all elected officials!!! And move on to police, firefighters, USPS employees, AMTRAK employees, etc.

Oklahoma has a bill in the house right now that goes right along with this.
HOUSE BILL 1649

2. Those persons applying for or receiving assistance pursuant to the TANF program shall be tested for illegal drugs through a program established by the Department of Human Services. Those persons refusing to submit to the drug test, or having a confirmed positive drug test, shall not be eligible to receive assistance. The Department shall promulgate rules necessary to implement the provisions of this paragraph;

Okay, I'm gonna bite.
Yes, yes a THOUSAND TIME YS! anybodt receiving public assistance should have to pass a drug test. Yes I agree about ANY public employee passing one too.

While we're at it, make 'em pass a physical every year too. I propose that we use the USDOT standard that they use for truck drivers for both.

I think this plan is bullshit. Blood, hair, or nothing. Urine is too easily masked and most drug users know just how to do it. I like the basic premise though.

While I agree with the premise, there would have to be an exception made for those on things like disability, provided it's a real disability (I've seen people on disability that were not disabled). My dad has been trying to get disability because he worked construction all his life and is practically in a wheel chair. He can't sit for more than about an hour tops and has to lie down periodically through the day. Thus, he can't hold a job. His back is FUBAR, the doc's can't figure out how he's still able to walk. And he's on a ton of drugs because of the pain. He'd never pass a drug test. And he's upset about his condition, wishes that he could be out working somewhere and making money.

I got a job w the state back in may. I was surprised that they didn't ask for a drug test, not that I had any thing to worry about. I did have to pass a OSBI background check.
