2.3L ('83-'97) upper rad hose

As i was looking at the engine bay today, I noticed (again) that the upper rad hose is sitting very very very (very) close to the AC compressor; is that something that typically gets trimmed and adjusted to give more clearance? I'm not comfortable with it sitting in that close proximity

Pop it off the rad and trim off an inch or so

That's what i'm thinking; of course this is after i filled it up with coolant...

You might be able to trim it without taking it off if you're really careful with a utility knife or a sharp pair of side cutters... go in from the end about half an inch then go around the perimeter...

Looking at the shape of that hose... Any chance it's on backwards?

Could you twist the hose clock wise at the water neck to move it away. I too would not want it that close.

I just checked, because with me you never know, and the straightaway on the part currently connected to the block is longer then the straightaway at the rad, so it'd be even more in the way if I reversed it
