that autozone press sucks. i bought one from them to do my ball joints. it didnt work worth a shit, i got pissed off bought a 2.5 lbs mini sledge from walmart and beat it out.

When dealing with stubborn ball joints like that I will get the impact gun on it (I really hope you have one because the vibrations it makes are key to what I do), and then smack the ear the joint sits in with a hammer while continuing to hit the clamp with the impact gun.

If that doesn't work I torch the ever-loving shit out of it.

Ohhh, there's a snap ring!!! haha, JUST KIDDING... forgot to mention THAT was out as well. You guys gave me the benefit of doubt though.

I have a decent impact gun! Definitely wouldn't get far with just a socket/ratchet... the impact gun is how the C from the ball press got bent! :shok: I'm just gonna take it to my favorite shop and let them heat it. That thing is STUCK in there! Maybe a good few wacks would do while pressure from the top but it torqued me off! Handing it off! Just didn't know if I was missing something! Thanks for the help! :icon_thumby:

Update: Spindle taken to a shop, heat applied and I was a bit taken aback when he used an impact hammer to push the ball joint out OPPOSITE from the way I was trying! SOB, embarrassed! And told him so! The other side should go easier! Geeez, need to stop drinking that Fireball while I'm working! :icon_rofl: And even after I took that snap ring off it should have been common sense! Knew something wasn't right. :shok:

Are we not able to communicate in a public forum without the use of crude and vulgar language?

Not if we are going to talk about working on vehicles. Ford's standard trainee tool kit includes a tool box, assorted sockets, wrenches, ratchets, a small hammer, a big hammer, and a list of profanities most appropriate to the country and language the course is being taught in.

A Ford trainee tool kit? That's quite the imagination you have there.

Have you been through Ford's training program? I have.

Look, if you want to talk like a pig in a public setting I'm not going to tell you not to. You obviously have a lot of mechanical knowledge and I very much appreciate you sharing it with us here at the Ranger Station, but I think it's sad that American has grown so uncivil that we can't show some common decency and communicate our thoughts in a public forum without the use of crude and vulgar language. Keep in mind that there is probably a young person or two that reads this forum, and it's a disservice to them to expose them to that type of language.

Social Justice Warrior ALERT!!!!

Social Justice Warrior ALERT!!!!

There's a SJW in the vicinity, run for your sanity!!!!!!!!

Go find your safe space, knucklehead. There ain't none here.

Wait, I thought the SJWs were the ones who beat up the mentally disabled because they have the same color skin at the POTUS and burn cities because people attacking cops get shot.

Easy everybody....

McCormack, if you have issue with how the forum is run, write a polite PM to the admins. Years ago no swearing was tolerated on here, now the current rules allow some use. It was a long debated topic and if you don't like it, you don't have to stay. You don't have to read threads or posts with it. Nobody is forcing you to do anything. And I wouldn't worry too much about youth reading it, most already know it. I've heard a lot of kids under the age of 12 that could use their mouth washed with soap.

Social Justice Warrior... what are you stupid??? Social Justice Warriors aren't about calling for civility in the way that we communicate with each other in a public forum, they're about shutting down political speech that doesn't agree with their agenda. As a staunch Conservative I'm anything but a SWJ.

But having said that, it's sad that America has fallen so far into the amoral abyss that calls for civility in the way that we treat each other is met with ridicule and derision. Good is evil and evil is good, right cbxer55?
