just wondering if i pull the 28 and 7.5 will the 8.8 and front axles just slide right in or gotta change the carrier with them as well

I think it depends on what rear axle you use.I'm thinking that all the d35s are a swap in and go. If you get a ranger 8.8 yes it will bolt right in. Explorer 8.8(31 splione axles) you will need to move the spring perches from the bottom of the axle to the top and i think you will also need to move the shock mounts. Also be sure that the gear ratios match front and rear or something will grenade.

EDIT: i think the front driveshaft might need changed and the rear driveshaft flange, dont quote me on this, there are more people on here that know a lot more than i do about this,i'm just going from what i have read and remember.

its pretty much a bolt in job. the front driveshaft will need to be shortened 1" and the rear drive flange will need to be changed to a 90 or newer if i recall. its not hard at all to do this swap. good luck.
