Updating the 4-Cylinder Tech Page - Suggestions Needed

not to be a wise@$$ or anything, but the 2.0 is just a smallbore 2.3. So most of what applies to the 2.3 applies to the 2.0

How about some links for after market carburetors I know for me finding the, Weber Carb i now have, took a while and a ton of research. Here is where I got mine http://www.carburetion.com/

Air Muffler modification

I did the modification on my 96. Finding a piece of pipe to replace the muffler with is near impossible. It's 2-3/4" on one end, and 3". An easier solution, is to gut the muffler. Take a hot knife and split the inner perforated tube. Then with a pillars, remove it from the 3" end. Looks stock, works great.

i know this is an old thread but just a rebuild thread on the 4 bangers would be nice, there is one for every other engine in the tech section.

I could really use the 4 cylinder timing belt replacement guild updated to cover the newer ones, so I know what to remove and what not to. This crank sensor has me a little discouraged.

How about a Tech article on replacing the Crankshaft Position Sensor and adjustment for proper operation.

That would be great

when removing Crankshaft Position Sensor bracket make damn sure that there's not any dirt/grit /sand behind the bracket when you bolt it back on. Its a light weight aluminum bracket & will break. They are only available with a NEW sensor @ $200+ or wrecking yard & only for 90-94 2.3 Rangers & 91-93 2.3 Mustangs. Ford list the bracket for $5+ but is no longer available anywhere in the USA

Hows about a list of larger TB that can be used on the 2.3/2.5 Lima

You can use the throttle body off a 5.0 but you have to grind out the bore of the upper intake so it will match the throttle body bore.

EFI delete stuff, what parts off the omc 2.3 will work in a truck? I heard a lot of boat engines are made to turn the opposite direction. It would be nice if tech library had more write ups with photos, videos. I think if a lot of basic things were covered it may help with not so many questions. I haven't been able to find out if my engine has a hole for a distributor, not a lot of photos with the different blocks. It says something about the aux. shaft and mine has some sort of cover on a bump out in the block with a big hole and a smaller one. no idea what its for.I really dont know if the engine had been replaced.May be other than a 94.

Hey I'm new here but I have a 95 ranger I just got it has the 2.3 in it I was winder the beat way to get more power out of it

Need to no if a 1990 model automatice transmission will work in my 2008 ranger it's a 2.3

The extremely short version is absolutely not.

You need a 2001.5+ trans, you'll know a 2001.5+ because it will have a 2.3L engine instead of the 1998 to early 2001 2.5L, the earlier 2.3L is completely different, all they share is displacement...
