Ok today I finally found out(I think) why the truck runs terrible.Everyone has been telling me it is most likely timing. Well it had a new damper and belt put on year or so ago. Today I was running it and clear as day I can see the crank pulley wobbling. From what i have read that would throw the crank sensor out of wack and make it run exactly how it is. Also from what I was told there is a keyway that holds it on? I havent seen it close so im not sure.Just wondering if anyone would have an idea as to why that would work its way loose. Thanks!

Yes,that is what will hapen when it runs loose.I would get one soon as if it flexes to much, the vanes will hit the crank sensor and snap off the pickup.

The key way is what aligns the hub onto the crank shaft there is a bolt that holds it onto the end of the crank. What happens is that the key way wallows out this allows the hub to move on the crank shaft and throws the timing off. If you look at the photo I attached it will kind of explain what I am talking about.

I had a seized belt adjuster on for the longest time and the belt was really tight before, I replaced it months ago but at the time I never noticed any problems with the crank pully, I guess the damage was already done and just got worse over time.

trying to get the pulley off

I'm having a hardtime trying to loosen the pulley bolt. Just wondering if I have to use a torque gun for this? I'm using a half inch ratchet and it seems pretty darn tight. I have the E-brake on and it's in reverse gear the engine moves a little then well I let go it goes to original position.
Just feels like a lot of pressure don't want to do any damage

Try using a breaker bar, put it on the bolt at the 5 or 4 o' clock position, then put a floor jack under the end of the bar and lift away. The weight of the truck will break it free.

won't work, I have a very long breaker bar, I get underneath the truck where there is more room and there is only a limited amount of swing room before obstacles get in the way and I cant unloosen any further.
I can try borrowing a torque gun from a friend but not sure it will fit unless I were to take of the fan which I don't want to do cause I'm worried it will cause coolant leaks after.

I had the same problem,If you have a 5 speed tranny, put in 5th gear and have someone apply the brake.you use the longest pipe on a braker bar to brake loose the crank bolt.I also used a shot of PB Blaster on the bolt...don't give that bolt is tight, and is a right handed bolt,so you turn to your left, while facing the motor. Good luck.Bob

was your wobbly pulley very obvious? I can see only the slightest wobble on mine and my mechanic says its fine,
