Unused fuse position in power distribution box

My gen 1 4.0 Ranger has some unused fuse positions in its power distribution box under the hood -- probably for accessories that were not installed on my truck.

I thought it would be a great idea to wire some extra lighting I am additing to these empty spots and then add in a new fuse. This way I don't have to add my own aux fuse panel somewhere.

I have tested and found these unused positions are both powered by the battery and even wired into the harness.

The question is, where do these wires go or where do they terminate since they aren't being used. Wondering if anyone has ever got into the harness and seen the extra wires. I would like to use them for my lighting if I can.

Can't say for sure but, the 2 fuse positions I put my lights on had the wire ending at the BWP. That's where I'd start looking.

BWP: Big White Plug. Only thing is, I don't think they had BWPs on first gen Rangers. I guess I just need to poke around the wires as the firewall.

That plug isn't on a first gen (83-88) but neither is a 4.0. I assumed you meant your 92, which is very similar to a first gen but is actually second.

Since you have a distribution box and a 4.0 you should have a BWP. Unless someone has swapped that in. Even if they have, I'd look around right at the firewall near where the brake master cylinder is. In my case all of the power wires ran across the front of the engine bay and back down that side.
