For people tired of buying new hcv's here's one guaranteed not to rust, bust or leak.
Aoblast all brass ⅝" four way valve.
Manual operation is small inconvenience compared to replacing it.

Is that actually a problem? In 20 years of owning my 99 I had 1 break when I was too rough taking it apart. Dad's 01/02 has never had one break.

I do know some Super Duty people that would probably like that. Some (all?) of the 7.3 trucks didn't have a heater control valve at all. They like to buy shutoffs from the hardware store to install in line. This would probably be preferible since it would still allow coolant to circulate, just bypassing the heater core.
