Just need to vent real quick...

lent a friend 473 dollars for brakes on her tacoma. that was mid august. havent seen a penny back yet. not so much pissed at the money aspect, as i am the disrespect ive been getting when i ask when i can expect money back. i either get some excuse like her truck was broken into, or i get ignored.

Goes to show you, nothing good comes from lending anybody money. If i dont see any by mid october, im taking it to small claims. not for the cash, for the lesson that if you borrow something, you pay it back, or i make you.

and this was my buddys gf, but she kicked him out. #&&* (promised i wont cuss) this irritates me to NOOOO END. :annoyed:

i even installed the brakes.

looks like im the @$$#0(3.

:pissedoff:

ok rant over. im good now.

me = :buttkick:

um... this is in General Discussion of the TRUCK section? lol.
all good bro. um... take her to court. get your money back. you gotta watch out loaning anyone money now. even your "best friend" will screw you over...

lol i guess it fits since it over truck parts. haha. sorry.

im going to take it as a lesson. it seems like a good chunk of cash, but im going to be the bigger person here and let her be. if she pays it (which i think she will eventualy) great. if not, im fine with it, and it shows me why she is no longer considered a friend.

ive got bigger fish to fry, like finishing my highschool and being with the people i care about.

anyways, im off for the night. no internet at home. see ya!

only reason i said that-- is people see General Discussion and they think its for anything. most people don't realize its under the Truck Discussions header.

I had a situation similar to this a while back.

Solution:

Had friend she had never talked to/met call her and state he was a lawyer pursing collections, and recommended she resolve it outside of court. I told my buddy I'd take $XXX even though she owes me $XXX and he played it off as that i'd "Settle out of court in writing" for that.

Worked great, we are even still friends oddly enough.

I've been burned too many times, now I always take something in collateral. Got a decent 12 gauge that I took as collateral for $40 dollar concert ticket in 2003 lol A friend need 600 cash, so he gave up an '88 Mustang with a '93 HO from a T-bird, but I did get my money back on that and got to drive the car for a while.

I will only loan out so much at a time, but when I do, particularly with the people that I loan money to, I don't usually expect it back.

I think the last time I loaned anyone money and expected to get it back was about 3 years ago. A friend had spotted the friend that we knew each other through about $20. Well I was going to see friend A a lot sooner than friend B was and he is notoriously bad at paying back small loans due to being chronically bankrupt from gun purchases. I have also gotten quite good at extracting money from him over the years and needed the money less than either of them, so I gave friend A $20 when I saw her and told her I'd get it from the other guy, who I lived an hour closer to anyway.

i only loan money to my 2 uncles, my grandma, my mom and my bro.
basically my family. because none of them will burn me.

Goin to the same thing here, On a smaller scale but its not the $ point its the princpal.
Buddie came to the garage
Him "hey man guess what? I'm gettin another ranger"
Me "sweet what kind"
Him "Another ranger, I was needing a fill hose and a set of hubs"
Me " over there on my parts truck, for you 40 bucks since your a buddie"
Welp come to find out, There was no "new truck" He got them for someone eles. I have told him and told him I need the cash to get to school I'm dead broke.
Got planes this weekend to go to his house when he gets paid, tell em stright fowared, Hey, I need the money, or the parts your choice.
Now, to get ANY THING off me its money in my hand FIRST.
Even if someone needs a tool I got, Leve me something worth something you get it back when I get said tool back.

It would be awesome if you just went over and removed the parts you paid for and installed. Leave her sh*t up on blocks. But I am sure you would rather just get your money back, take her to small claims court and avoid getting yourself into trouble.

what's he gonna do w/ tacoma brakes?

what's he gonna do w/ tacoma brakes?

Nothing, but what is she going to do with a truck in pieces? borrow more money for an expensive tow and shop bill:icon_thumby:
