ugh... busted coil spring seat

That would be the spring perch on the passenger side. Completely broke, its going to be a PITA to fix. It's secured to the frame rail with 5 big ole rivets that are gonna be hard to get to. I'm gonna replace all the shocks and springs too while I'm at it.

The driver side is perfect, I looked the problem up and its a very common problem. What happened was it had a rubberized coating on it... when condensation got inside, it couldnt get out and started rusting inside out.

I read about other peoples issues with this and a quick search turned up a report from consumer complaints... a lot of issues with this. Anyone know if it's by chance a safety recall or its going to be an out-of-pocket fix? I'm not looking forward to it either way ha

I think you're going to be on your own though with that one. It sure does get rusty out in that part of the country though huh? LOL

I would say the easiest way to remove the rivets will be to grind the heads off and then punch them out.
