I recently had my 5 speed standard ranger apart, because of a blown u joint. When taking off from a stop sign i got a loud squeek which turned into a vibration at high speeds. Sure enough i found it was the u joints. So far ive blown two in about a year and a bit(same one). Im woundering if my diff is causing extra wear on my u joints. My driveshaft is out, is there anything i can try to locate a possible flaw in my diff? I tried to turn it manually by hand while the truck was on the ground and it seemed to move about 1/4 inch. Should there be that much play between the pinion and such?? maybe im thinking pinion or bearing?

Is you truck lifted?
