do the ubolts from a 7.5 fit on a 8.8? or are the axle tubes different diameters?

As long as it is a Ranger 8.8, then yes. If it is an Explorer 8.8, then no.

damn! its an explorer 8.8 out of a 94

Explorer 8.8 is 3.25 inch diameter. I picked up 4 new u-bolts for 24 bucks.

dont you also need the top plates from the explorer too? it seems like i read that a few members squeezed their new u bolts into the 7.5 plate though?

hmm yea do i need the top plates?

maybe i can just round out the 7.5 inch plates?

DONT use, used u-bolts. once they are stretched they are junk, broken u-bolt(s) are a very very shitty thing, along with broken center bolts

DONT use the 7.5 mounts, get the right ones or make your own

you will need a 8.8 flange if yours is not a the proper pattern, i believe the explorers are a 3inchs between the holes on the flange.

86

im pretty sure they are the same flange.

ok so i measured the flange bolts hole and they are exactly the same. Phew!

also does anyone know how much this axle weighs?

excellent. can i use the sway bar that came attached with the rear end>? also im gonna replace the fluid in the pumpkin what kind should i use?
