Hello All,
2001 ranger 2.3 liter 5 speed 206k
I failed emissions inspection due to Evap system monitor & EGR monitor systems not ready. Same thing happened last year. i only drive a few miles a day and maybe carbon builds up. Mechanic has to clean them then drive cycle to get ready for emissions. Is the EGR easy to clean ? I want to save money.
Truck T-STAT gauge spiked up to mid point ( it usually rests right below the symbol) and I turned heater on to bring it back down. It was a hot day and I drove about 10 miles. There was no reservoir bubbling or coolant loss. The heat comes right on when. I get 16.8 MPG city. Any thoughts what this could be?
Also, for the life of me I cannot find PCV valve.
Thanks in advance as I am trying to fix all these issues with my truck this weekend.
God bless
