Hi folks!
Ok, so I just spent the last hour reading through about 30 different posts on t-bar cranking to try to solve my problem, and haven't found anything yet...
For the record, it's a 04 ranger xlt 4x4 level 1.
I found the the front end of my truck spongy, so I got a hold of two brand new FoMoCo t-bars for a decent price, the dealer ordered them for someone else who cancelled and I got them for almost 1/2 price.
Today, I followed the directions from the tech library, measured everything up, and swapped out the t-bars.
Once everything was reassembled, I decided to try to remove some of the rake I had before, and went on a mission to get about 1/2"-1". So I measured from the top of the fender to the edge of the rim at 11". I turned the bolt about 5 complete revolutions, dropped the truck, drove around the block a few times and I'm still at 11".
On one of the posts, it said if I jack the truck up, and crank the bolt, I should notice the tire dropping, but it doesn't. Jacked up, the distance between the fender and the edge of the rim is 13 1/2", and no matter how much I tighten the bolt, it doesn't exceed 13 1/2" (assuming because that's the max travel?)
Anyway, any information you can provide me would be a huge help!
Thanks in advance.
