I have a 1995 Ranger. Amongst other problems, my turn signals only work on occasion. I can usually tell when they aren't going to work before I try to use them because I hear a rapid clicking noise coming from under the dash /guage cluster area yet when I move the turn signal lever the clicking noise will stop & the turn signals don't work. Moving the lever back to off will start the clickin sound again. The emergency 4 way flasher work fine.

if anyone has had the same problem or knows where I should start to look I'd appreciate the help. It Seems like a relay clicking but I cant hear under the dash with that stupid chime going off with the key on & the door open..:bawling:

Thanks fellas!!

I'd start with the flasher or the switch. The 4-ways have a separate flasher.

Mine did that for a little bit, I think the problem is that the contacts get dirty, I could be wrong though.

^what he said. Try that. If not, then only drive it when the turn signals are working....lol

that clicking relay sound is really annoying.. hoping the weather brakes so I can check it out & figure a way to disable the door chime thing.. So i can hear while I get under the dash.

Door chime is easy: take a pen or a screwdriver and close the door latch mechanism with it since the dome light/chime switch is attached to the latch.

Or you can unplug the buzzer completely. It's the bottom most connector about 6 inches to the drivers side of center

There is a blue relay/ box thing with a blue plug just above the diagnostic plug behind the lower dash panel. That is what sometimes goes haywire. Is that the flasher or just a relay?
