Turn Signal Issues.

Here's my issue:

A few weeks ago when I was driving my '94 Ranger 4x4, the turn signals stopped working. I checked them out when I returned home and here is what's going on:

When headlights are off:

-Turning on left turn signal, All signals flash, including license plate lamps and dash lights. Left signal indicator on dash works as if they're on correctly
-Turning on right turn signal, functions just fine.
-Turning on Hazards, all four flash, including dash and license plate lamps.

When headlights are on:

-Turning on left turn signal, No flash from any of them, drivers front gets a little brighter, as well. Left indicator on dash stay solid.
-Turning on right turn signal, works correctly.
-Turning on Hazards, no flash from any of them, but fronts gets brighter. Indicators bulbs on the dash stay solid.

There were aftermarket LED taillights installed when I purchased it, and Halo Projector Headlights. I removed LED tails and used a normal bulb, and no changes in the above. I switched bulbs out of all four turn signals and nothing changed, as well. The projectors are not hooked in, nor are any other accessories.
It does have a towing package, and all wires there are properly connected. I also checked all fuses and none are blown. When I replaced a signal fuse with a higher amperage one, they functioned fine for a little bit, but now they are back to the above.
I also replaced one the flashers and that didn't resolve it.
Tried new Multifunction Switch and Headlight Switch and nothing.

The only thing that resolves the issue, is when I pull the green/orange wire from the plug going into the MFS, which leads to left rear turn signal, that stops all the problems, but obviously then I don't have that signal.

Any answers? This became urgent because my car just decided to start acting up and I need my truck fixed ASAP so I can drive that.

Thanks in advance,

Zack

pull your steering column apart and check all the wires for shorts. also check all ground point, cant say much else without a year and model. it real is strange tho

Also your multi-function switch on the steering column could have something broken inside. Like pony says get out the meter and start trouble shooting. You can get wiring diagrams here: http://search.ebscohost.com/ User: tech Pass: tech. You will need to select the ARRC link once you have logged in.

Dont start tearing apart stuff that isn't broken yet. I would suspect a short in the wire you pulled going to the LR ts With the wire unplugged, check for continuity to ground.

Thanks for the response, sorry I didn't include year or anything. Thought I did.
It's a 94 4x4 Ranger.

I got it figured out. My uncle is an electrician. Apparently the harness for the trailer wiring was bad. Seems as if it melted or something. Anyhow, we pulled off the wiring harness for the trailer, and problem solved!

Thanks for the suggestions though!
