are there any 2.3 turbo motors out there that are not EFI ... Looking for one for a carb set up.

'79-'82 I believe. The 2.3 was carb turbo'd about that time period. They're hard to find.

So If I get a turboed 2.3 thats injected can I just change out the manifold and use a carb??

Supercharging with carburetors is not a fun thing to do. Extremely hard to tune and get the engine to run correctly.

To answer your question, no you cannot simply change to a carburetor. The computer would not allow the engine to run without the injectors. shady

Curios..Why do you want to stick with a carb? Whats wrong with FI?

I am old school... I don't know anything about them or them computers eather. I work on my own stuff. every time I've had to take one of them damn EFI cars in I'm looking at $600.oo + in repairs.. :flipoff: F that...
Thats why every thing I drive or own (execpt thie 84 Ranger which IS carbed) is old, Carbed, and computer less...
1) 61 Mercury Comet 200 cu. I 6 with a 3 speed on the tree (Daily Driver)
2) 64 International 4 door Pick up with a 460 ford 450hp/tq. (my hot rod)
3) 79 AMC Concord 223 I 6 with a 4 speed. (wife's car)
and my son's
76 Olds Cutless with a 455.

There are still a few of them around and I've seen pics of them...apparently they are not nearly as powerful as the FI versions and you might be looking at difficulty finding replacement parts if you do come across one...

You can, however, swap in the wiring harness and run a carb on an FI engine (minus the computer) a carbed Ranger with the right parts can get you upwards of 200 HP but it would cost you more than the turbo version with EFI...

I run an 88 with a carb and I'm happy with it...just not as much HP as I'd like...but that may come...

If you can find some 4.10 gears it certainly helps...
