Has anyone thrown a turbo on a 3.0 before? I’m planning on doing a full engine rebuild but want some more power. Do the 3.0 handle small amounts of boost well? Or at all?

i did a remote (bed mount) in mine and I got a lil too big of a turbo i couldnt get it too lit any boost but it made some fun noise and seem more responsive even though my vaccum/boost guage didnt move past 0. it was a 60/57 turbo i believe just china ebay one. i got a 2" coolant piping kit from amazon, Blow off valve, aluminum MAF housing, boots/ flanges, oil resivoir etc. was completely self contained was gona get a smaller turbo but the electric oil pump i was using sprung a leak i have a post with pictures on here. I think sizing the right turbo was my only fault outside of the cheaper oil pump.

.... you been like the old boost lab 6057? that should actually be a bit small for a 3.0....i would have run it self contained with a heater tube to keep the oil warm and no valving. i suspect it was blowing off somewhereSponsored Ad
