turbo on 4.0 ranger

1994 ranger v6 4.0 i want to turbo it but dont know if the motor is strong anough so has anyone done it? will it hold up with a turbo? or will it just blow up

It's been done by quite a few members. I actually have most of what you need to turbo a 4.0 (i had plans to TT mine, but a V8 swap fell in my lap) if your interested, I can make you a deal... Pm me if interested

It will handle mild boost if you do your homework. Just rigging a turbo without all the supporting mods will have a high probability of failure and disappointment.

Any turbo manufacturer will be able to recommend you a properly sized turbo. You'll want fuel injectors, a higher flow pump, dyno tune, intercooler or water/meth injection, ect...
