turbo help

i am looking at putting a turbo in my 2007 ranger sport, obviously it has a 3.0. I really dont know where to start, are ther kits available or will i have to custom build a system. and how much boost would be too much to where i have to do major engine modifications.

There are no "kits" available. You'll have to fab what you want. The universal STS remote mount setups that I've seen seem pretty nice.
I'd keep the boost at 10lbs of boost or less on an otherwise stock setup. (Ford Racing sold a supercharger for the 3.0 that had a full Ford warranty, and it was setup for 10lbs.) The highest amount I've seen on a 3.0 was 21lbs on a motor with over 100,000 miles, but a rod bolt stretched, and it put a piston through the block. I'm currently building a 3.0 to run between 10-15lbs , (depending how much boost I lose from the P/P work and headers) but it's a fresh rebuild, with a balanced bottom end, and lots of supporting mods. A healthy, fresh 3.0 is pretty stout, but 10 lbs is all I'd run to keep reliability at a reasonable level.

I'll keep you guys posted on my build, turbo 3.0 with as little engine work as possible besides a newer stock block with mustang rockers. I'm shooting for the 300 HP range as my other car is a turboed beast, but an auto
