Turbo 2.3L

I recently purchased an '88 Turbo Coupe for parts to swap into my '88 short 4x2. On tearing down the engine I found a tag "Remanufactured for Ford", PN E1BZ 6V012 CARM, SN: ME 0001022.
I've Googled the #'s with no result.
I am semi Ford part # literate at least knowing the basics.
I'd like to know how to find who, when and how of the reman co. and what may be the shape of the internals before I go all the way down. Thanks for any info y'all may be able to supply.

It could have been remanufactered in Brazil, Mexico, Canada, maybe the US, Iam guessing Mexico does it smell like taco salsa inside? If your in to the motor may as well take it all the way down
