if you're just looking for 250hp don't worry about tuners or injectors. the stock 87/8 tc stuff will suport that if you know what you're doing. repin your harness for an la3 and run some new wires for the vam. get a center mount header or port the hell out of the e6 exhaust manifold, 18ish psi and run 3" exhaust if you can. oh and a milid head porting and a good intercooler would help.
I'm from ca so really can't hepl about the cold winter driving.
I'm doing that swap into a 86 2wd right now and am planning to post up what I come up with on the computer swap
Oh and rangers up to 88 had the duel fuel pump set up witch should be pleanty if you rewire them so they get a full 12v.
