stopped in and saw my local Tuffy guy today asked him to check my exhaust system on the new to me ranger ( only 28,600 miles Actual!)
whiel I was there he suggested changing out the plugs and wires since they were 12 years old . even with 28 thousand on them? didn't sound right to me but he claimed that the wires were too old to be efficient anylonger.
what do you think and I am getting about 24 miles per gallon average the way it is
2.3 with auto

if its still runnin good and has plenty of pep, and ur gettin good gas mileage i really wouldnt mess with it...

but me bein the way i am, i do that to a new vehicle i get no matter what, even if the PO put new stuff on i replace them anyways so i know that its been done properly

kinda what I was thinking but was not sure if he was just trying to sell more merch.

He did say that the plugs could sieze in the head so I may do this this weekend .
any suggestion on which plugs and wires to use? I was leaning to Bosch platim2s

I have a 1995 ranger that is identical to you with the same color setup and miles, i would really consider changing the wires and plugs, it made a considerable difference in mine, the wires age and crack, I hated the performance( blamed it on the auto and air) but it made quite a difference when I changed them I probably owned two dozen rangers and I would stick with the motor craft plugs, I have alwalys had better luck with them in a twin plug
