I live in Missouri. Know of anyone that can tune my truck? I want to distroy my speed limiter!!!:icon_confused:

Not sure about Rangers but a lot of over the counter tuners let you turn the speed limiter up out of the vehicle's best possible speed.

My brother has his F-150 set at 199 I think just because he could, best of luck getting a '150 wound that tight. :icon_thumby:

Thanks. Any ideas on a good tuner? I'd hate to spend a few hundred dollars to use it only once!!

Where in Missouri?

I like my superchips tuner. Takes the speed limiter off, tunes the trans shift pressures and shift points, tunes the engine, you can change the tire and gear size, and it also reads codes and monitors the engine values you set it for.

You can check Ebay. Search your year, motor size and see how many there are. I see them all the time. The prices are about $260-400 for a good tuner. They are programmable and will only work for your truck once you tune it. You can't sell it to someone else. I have friends who have done there trucks and love the tuners. One buddy told me there was a guy he met that claims he can 're-tune' one and it can be re-used on another vehicle. Not sure about that but someone else on this site might now for sure if you can do that.

My brother's Edge Evolution is locked when the vehicle is tuned. When it puts the program in the PCM the factory tune goes in the tuner, so when you switch it back everything is honky-dory and you can put it on another vehicle.

I had it in my truck for a run down to Kansas to pick up a plow, it sure helped the milage and shifting. :icon_thumby:

X2 on the superchips, I have the SCT X2 tuner, works awesome and I use mine weekly...

What kinda of truck do you have? As far as I know, if it's a ford, then you'll have to buy a tuner like the superchips or an SCT anyways, even if you take it to a shop to get it tuned. So if all you're wanting to do is get rid of the governer, then just buy the tuner and do it yourself.
