Does anyone have any install pictures of tuff country 4 inch lift?

I used their 4/6 brackets on the front of my Explorer and have plenty of pictures of how they had to be modified to fit right.

Scan through my build, said pictures are towards the bottom of the first page

Other than that, their coils are pretty stiff. Can't help ya beyond that.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm in the process of installing this kit on my 89 B2. It looks like the pass side pivot arm drop bracket is installed on the back side of the cross-member? If this is true then I will have to do some cutting and modification to make it fit right. If I put it on the front side of the cross-member it seams to fit with no modification. So which side does it go on?
:icon_confused:

The back side. You'll need to trim some of the lip off.

Yes, it will. A friend of mine has these brackets on his 94 Ex cab, and when he got it there was a crack in the crossmember. He welded it up, and it's held fine. It's been about a year. I've heard more than one person report this happening as well.

Thanks again guys for the help. I got it installed yesterday, with a little cuttin, and grindin, and cussin. Now I just got to get it alligned. What can be done about the sway bar? Does anyone make drop brackets, or is there longer links? Has anyone made there own fabrication? Any sugestions? I'm thinking about just cutting my links and making them longer. Will that work? Anyone ever done it? Question is, how much longer do they need to be? Any help? Thanks

You can use sway bar links off the rear of a BII, they will work great for a lifted front end.

Or, you could elimnate the sway bar, just like almost every one else. :D

If it's Tuff, it's TOUGH

I've been stuck with my 1994 Explorer lift for a year now trying to figure out the whole Tuff Country Install :bawling: - finally found this thread and it is GREAT! Thanks for all the great pictures :icon_thumby:. My front brackets installed much easier than yours, luckily, but I do recall having to do quite a lot of grinding. Didn't have to cut off any tabs though. My problem is the EXTENDED Radius Arms (I wanted the longer ones rather than dropping the bracket). The kit has a custom bracket that unlike other brands does not replace the tranny x-member, but rather "bolts" on forward of that. The Ranger apparently has a hole already in the frame for reference, the Explorer has nothing (except they have added some fuel lines on the other side of the frame where I would need to drill). So here is my question - how close to perfect do I need to be in the placement of these brackets to keep the front end located fore/aft correctly and get a proper allignment? I want to get it right the first time because I plan to weld them to the frame rather than drill and bolt :icon_welder:.
How difficult is the rear axle flip? I got some extended rear leaf spring hangers (much stronger than the stock ones) from a company in Canada and was planning to just do that with a single add-a-leaf but the flip looks like it may be a better option.
