I have a ford bronco and want to build a capable toy out of it I have been looking at ways on how to improve the over performance of the ttb. I have come down to a small but fairly complete list of suspension mods for the ttb abd would love for people to give in-put and or correct things that wont work. So far I was thinking of James Duff dual front shock and coil mount, camburg bent beams, autofab extended radius arms, and some james duff bushings, superlift steering setup, and 8" stage 2 skyjacker lift kit parts *little bit for front and rear*, and 8" jeep coils with 1.5"-2.5" coil spacers to even out lift, proper shocks of some sort and some limiting straps, maybe some better leafs then just skyjacker leafs, if this kinda seems unrealistic or if parts wont mix and match its because Im a bronco/ranger noob and Im just going off of what I think should be able to work :icon_twisted: so be easy on me this is just an aspirations list if anything and if all goes well and it'll work I can gather parts.

Well, that is a pretty big list. All I can say as you are a Noob in your words is to look it up. people have done some interesting things with ttb.I hope you know with the 8" coils and around 2" of spacers.......10" of lift will be unalignable. and good luck with running prolly a 37in tire on a D28 or D35. the max lift i would put on is prolly 6in with out goin solid axle. So as you search things you will improve your list and good luck with the plans I hope you have fun......thats what it is all about

I only included spacers to make up for lost lift because the jeep coil is much softer then a ranger coil, but Im probably just gonna do a 3-link front with some high end coil overs and deaver rear leafs with teraflex revolver shackles *just a basic description of suspension* with a narrowed dana 44 and 9". Then Im not so far out of my element as I know straight axle suspensions better then ifs/ttb.

Make sure you get the newer JD coil mounts that will accept either a standard RBV coil, or an early Bronco coil (which should also accept a Jeep coil with little modification). The older JD mounts will not work with anything but a stiff RBV TTB coil.

As for 8" Skyjacker stuff, you shouldn't need anything like that at all, the highest practical lift for a TTB suspension like said is 6", and with the Jeep coils at that height, your only viable steering option will be the Stonecrusher linkage.

I would suggest getting a pair of 4" lift axle pivot brackets, some adjustable coil mounts such as what Ballistic Fab offers, Skyjacker's Jeep XJ coils (their 6" XJ coils sit right about 16.3" compressed height with the weight of a BII on them), and stick with a set of stock (not bent or modified) axle beams if you're trying to build a trail crawler (modded beams are better if jumping and high-speed running are your goals). The rest of the suspension isn't tremendously different from what you have with straight axles (radius arms, shock mounts and the like), and can be built in a similar fashion.
This should be enough to fit 35" tires with some fender trimming. If you need to go higher, I'd suggest a 2" or 3" body lift. This seems the more practical option than trying to put a massive amount of lift into the suspension itself.
