Looking for a skid plate for my Dana 35 TTB front axle. I know a couple companies used to make them but with demand being down recently most places have ceased manufacturing them. Any ideas where I can find one would be much appreciated. Thanks!

i'm pretty sure no one makes them anymore. your only bet is to find a used one.

or, do have the tools to make one yourself? i've been thinking of making one for mine

Nobody makes them anymore because they're useless junk.

Huh? How is it they are useless junk? Mine's served me quite well...

Not sure if he is looking for that style or the one that would go between the frame rails like the newer trucks have?

I had one that bolted to the front of the beam through the lower bolt holes for the pig and wrapped underneath and all the way up to and was supported by the pinion snout.

Or like yours

Nah I'm a college student living at home still, don't have any real tools for fabbin' one up. Doesn't seem too difficult, just not equipped to do so.

If you make one, I'd pay you to make one up for me & shipping.

I know the 3rd member is pretty strong but I figure rather be over prepared.

I was really looking for anything for a little more protection.

Don't make one like this. It sticks out too far and will rip the bolts right outta their mounting spots due to a good hit on a rock, then you will have a bent beam. Get one made like Sasquatchs and Junkies that mounts flush with the face of the beam and then wraps around the snout of the D35

Yours looks reasonable. I'm thinking more along the lines of the full length skid plates, always thought they'd get hung up on stuff more than prevent damage.

That's just ridiculous. The TTB doesn't need anymore help plowing.
