Hi names mark from Pinckney, Mi. I got a 1994 ford ranger 4x4, 4.0L V6, Lifted with 33's and AIRHORNS! haha. Just a quick question about my ranger. I took it off roading and when i got back the exhaust manifold was loose, tightened it back up and now theres an annoying ticking when you start it up. any ideas what it could be...?
Thanks, Mark

The tick is probably a small leak. The manifold may not be tight enough, may be warped, or the gasket may be no good now that it loosened up and was re-tightened.

Does it quiet up after the engine runs for a little bit?

When I fire up the truck you dont hear it till it warms up a little. I got a new gasket and will throw that in tomorrow and will see if that helps any and ill let you know. Thanks for the info

I put in the new gasket, old one was shot but the ticking is still there. Could be a lifter? Not really sure
