try this again...tach??

my last post got moved or removed, so here we go again. my tach has issues. i will be cruising around in the ranger, look down, and the tach reads 4200 rpm's. i know i am not runnin 4200. at idle, it will read 3700. if i hit it hard enough, sometimes it will read correct, sometimes not. help??

does it get stuck alot, or can you see the needle move?

it will move from 3700 to 4200-4300 when the motor revs.
