So I installed the Truxxx leveling on my truck about two weeks ago. The ride is rough, which i expected, and accept fully, since I got the added clearance i wanted. Here's my problem.... This morning I go out to the truck and the driver's side is lower than the passenger's side. So i checked my air pressure, and the amount of bolt extending out of both torsion key bolt covers. everything came out the same. 32psi in both tires and the same amount of bolt extending on each key. The shocks are new, so shouldn't be the problem. They are KYb Gas a Just. I'm really confused, what else could be wrong? Any ideas/ help would be greatly appreciated.:icon_confused:

Forgot to mention the truck has torsion bars, and the Truxxx kit is a torsion key replacement. Just to clear up confusion

Sounds like the t-bar bolts may be your problem. The amount of bolt showing should be DIFFERENT on each side......

What is the Truxx kit composed of? If your your front lift was either a torsion twist or replacement keys I'd say the above-mentioned is the source.

Did you install it yourself or have a shop do it?

How much difference is there from side to side?

A buddy who works at a shop, and I did it. We had everything set up, but the way he interpreted the directions were that both bolts should extend the same amount. I was reading around, and saw another post saying there should be another 1/4 in showing on the passenger side. Is that right?

The truxx kit is just 2 torsion bar keys and a set of directions.

Could it possibly be that I have them over extended?

Don't have the measurements with me, in the truck.

Then I'd say the bolts are the "problem". they should both be at different lengths... For example, when I cranked my bars I had to replace the bolt on d side but the stock bolt on the p side still has about 1/4" or more of thread showing.

I think what your friend may have misread is that when tightening the bolts you want them to extend both TORSION BARS the same amount, not extend both BOLTS the same amount....

Watch your cv angles (don't let them get too steep) but you're probably ok to level it to where the high side is now. I can check my numbers (rubber to wheel well) for you if you think that'd help.

Ok, that would be great. Lets say the CV angle did get too great, what would the consequence be? Are we talking new shocks, or the whole damn front end?

It'll grenade the cv's, they're about $300/side. ...

The distance from the tread of my tire to the wheel well is almost exactly 6". You can use that as a guideline but your truck is going to be different....

my truck sits lower on the drivers side too. i checked a couple other ones over the past couple of months in random parking lots. they all had the same lower drivers side. they were all 2wd's so i dont know if its the same with 4wd.

Kinda hard to blow out the man's CV's on a 2wd :shok:m(they dont have them original poster)

I have installed more leveling kits than I can count, the bolts are never showing the same number of threads from side to side on chev's or ford's, 1/4" of bolt on the T-bar generally equals 1" of lift at the wheel with the truck sitting on the ground crank that sucker til its level with the passenger side.
