Truckspotters


So a less extreme version of this. That's owned by a local shop owner, it sits about 5 miles from where I am right now... those pics were from August of '10 so a while ago and apparently the paint is cracking and stuff but yeah... he extended the bed and obviously did a bunch of work.

There were 10 foot beds factory for some years.

Though 9 and a half is what the gms were.

The longfoot was optioned with up to a 12' bed.. theres a 10' footer up on marketplace local to me actually.. I'm trying to behave and not bring another project home though 😫

We call them "Taco Trucks"
Any normal truck that has a box conversion is called a "taco truck" for some reason. Never heard it anywhere but Tallahassee.
My thinking is that the term came along before "Food Trucks" were trendy, because I see a few trucks like this selling food/tacos at all the "early stage" construction sites ( raw earth, steel, and concrete, no outside walls or roof ) where the Mexicans are working.
 
I'd trust a taco off a taco truck before I'd eat a hot dog off a roach coach. Used to take a whole roll of Tums to recover afterwards whenever I ate off of the roach coach.
