Trucks running hot

3-row has more cooling capacity. Normal 2.9L rads were 1-row. IIRC, 4.0L rads are either 2 or 3 row.

Last time I bought radiators I got it through RadiatorBarn.com, their prices shipped were about the best I could find, and they came pretty quick too.

well im in bemidji area soooo define "close" il be ordering what ever rad i pick next week being i needs teh moneys from zee paycheck first so plenty of time for more input and soon il pick up the water pump and id like to get it all done in one fell swoop.

yah..if you dont see any leaking around the hoeses, i would only pick up a flush kit..cheap $15 maybe? and flush ur system with the hose. however i would also get a new thermostat, super easy to do and cheap. another $15 prob. But if your willing to put a new radiator in....its only for better. gl.

Got my water pump ordered getting that tomarrow morning. taking the rad out tonight and bringin it to the rad shop after i pick up the water pump see if it can be reserected if not see if i can get a good deal on a new one.

Current progress for those who are following this lil thread got the rad out and its sittin in the bed of the pickup waiting to be brought to the shop.

Followers! i had the rad checked out an it will do the job to test the water pump thats going in. but now im stuck on how to well get that bloody fan off the autozone guide i looked at said i needed two tools that im not sure i have...

The fan nut is 1,7/16'' sometimes you have to take out the pulley bolts for clearance I have a strap wrench to hold the pulley but i've also clipped a small pair of channel locks on the inside lip to hold the pump pulley.

great news followers the water pump is done and its all put togeather now im just waiting on my new rad for final assembly and such

so after many days waiting i got it all back togeather and filled up but its still running hot?? this is with a new t stat rad water pump, a buddy sermised it may still have air left in the system could that do it? i think mosts out though.

Are you going by the stock gauge for a temp reading?

How well did you flush the motor out? Is the heater core plugged up?

yes its the stock gauge. it should be flushed pretty good, the heats pretty warm coming out of the vents. how could i tell if the cores plugged?

edit: i will be taking to work today its about 28 miles round trip so il have 14 miles or so each way to see how it runs.
