i have an 84 ford ranger 4x4 truck 2.8l. i was just driving to my fav fishing hole and the truck starts glugging and then overheats. steam was coming out of the hood and coolants was all over everything. now my truck will start but will die instantly or when given gas will die. i need help or just a new engine because it has lots of problems

Is it possible that the cast iron head of the older motor cracked and the intake stroke draws water into the cylinder quenching the burn?

Ignition system could be wet too- dry it all off, fix the water leak, fill it with water, and go from there.
