After breaking 4 exhaust hangers for what seemed like no apparent reason, I finally found out why.

I seems that my chassis flexes to much when my truck is articulated. You can see that the exhaust stays with the front of the chassis as it twists.

Although easily fixed with some flex-pipes. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Anyone considering dual pipes should have this in mind, as I found out. Later that day, my tailpipe was bent around my axle, and took out brake line in the process.

what sort of hangers were you using?

ive had my true duals for 4 years now and ive only broken one hanger.

That's why my exhaust exit's here, don't have to worry about catching it any more.

If you cab/bed mounts are in bad shape it will let the frame flex more too, they help give the frame more strength.

Rear swaybars will pass more stress on the frame as well.

Just some ideas to check out to see if you more than normal frame flex.

Yeah, i agree with the two above. Either dump it pre-tire or post muffler. Easy fix.

I once had a side exit/ before the tire on my old B2. That got ripped off so fast in the woods. Never again.

Dumps under the bed sound like s#!t. IMO

Oh, and my pipe was wrapped around my axle when I had to back up in some ruts.

did you run a pipe UNDER the axle?

Run it over the frame, and try ripping it off.

I was wondering if you have "flex" joints on both exhaust pipes & if you do--are they rusted together so that they can't twist or pivot on each other like they should? :icon_confused:

No flex pipes, as of now, it's fully welded from the y-pipe flange all the way back.
