Truck's a 1994 Mazda B3000 with the 3.0 straight six. I was driving home one day and it just died, cranks fine but wouldn't start. Got it home, no spark. Replaced the ignition control module, and coil pack, still no luck. I just ordered the cam position sensor, and I'm not really sure if that's it, or where it is honestly. Any opinions on what else it could be? Or if anyone can snap a picture or try to explain in detail where the sensor goes it'd be appreciated.

It shoud be a V6, not a straight six. Get the codes read. Most auto parts do this for free. Much cheaper than throwing parts at it trying to fix it. I don't think the 94 has a cam position sensor, but if it does, it shouldn't keep it from starting. Or, do you mean the crankshaft position sensor?:)shady

You should still get spark without the cam position sensor. However, if the crankshaft position sensor goes out, you will not get any spark. But, f.y.i. the cam position sensor is located back towards the firewall, where you would expect a distributer to be (middle of the lower intake).

Sorry you're right it is a v6 don't know why I thought straight. Can't get to an auto parts store firstly, doesn't run. Secondly, it does not have a CEL on. My truck does have a distributor, does this mean that it does not have a camshaft position sensor? As far as the crankshaft sensor, it's inside the distributor isn't it? I tried looking today at the motor for the camshaft position sensor but it's snowing outside, and I didn't see anything like my Haynes manual shows. I'm not really sure where else to go with this, so if anyone has more input it's appreciated.
