INFO TRS Socials Banner

I'm a descendant of Niall Noígíallach who was a legendary Irish king and the progenitor of the Uí Néill dynasties. His reign is believed to have been in the late 4th and early 5th centuries.

I'm not wearing a kilt.
I’m a descendant of the Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne, I don’t plan on dressing like this:

I'm with Snoranger & Jim on this one. I'm a decendent of Adam and Eve, I don't plan to start dressing like this. (at least not in public 😉)

My uncle has all the info on where my family is from in Ireland.

On my dad's side, erik the red is in the line. Erikson is my dad's cousin's last name. Buseman and Moen are the Norwegian names of my paternal grandparents.

My mom had told me a ling timebago were related to lief erikson and erik the red. And then when i did that ancestry thing, it said the same thing. I was impressed that the family line was known just by word or mouth.

They kinda cheated with their names, the last name was their fathers first name with "son" or "dotter" at the end. The Lutheran's were ruthless when they came in documenting lineages too.

Im mostly Swede so there is a lot of that. When my families came to the US they were basically told to make up a last name because the rolling last name thing isn't a us thing.

And, just to maintain some semblance of the original subject of the thread, I’ll say;

“Socials Banner”

I am German & Irish per my family history (as told to me). I have not looked into it.
I do know that our surname is German & when the original family came to the USA they settled mostly in Penna. they to kept farming , later others went into the coal industry. on the farmer side, if any of you know or heard of Guers dairy products in PA (pronounced like gears). those be my relatives although my name is not Guers. :)

PS, still lurking here & no banner :ROFLMAO:

Explains why he's such a people person.
It’s not easy to communicate with the common folk when you’re basically 46th generation royalty.

The Royal advisors have requested I step in at this point. With their considered advice, I decree there should be a Polish banner.

Note, Poland was separated about 250-300 years ago, and did not exist for about 150 years “officially.” It was divided between historic Germania, Prussia (historic Russia), and the Ottoman Empire (Turkey and such). Poland was reconstituted as a nation during and after World War I, and the Polish boundaries changed dramatically after World War II.

Not only were the Princely titles reinstated after World War I, Russia, and other countries, formally acknowledged them a couple years later Postings like these may seem to indicate that my Royal line started in 1824. That is not correct.

IMG_5303.jpeg

We’ve traced our history well before the 1400s, and in the family’s rise to prominence, the “ @Jim Oaks “ of Poland, Michael the First, was elected to rule all of Poland and Lithuania in the mid 1600s. “Wisniowiecki” is a Polish and Russian language “sister interpretation and spelling” of Woroniecki. The 1824 decree was to remove any doubt of the Woroniecki lineage.

If anyone is doubting these claims, you simply have to look at this portrait and see my resemblance to know this is factual beyond contestation

Therefore, by the power vested in me, I decree there should be a TRS Polish banner. Said Polish banner should include the Royal crest of the Woroniecki family atop their postings:

The little people of Polish descent should have the “Poland” banner without the Royal Crest. Of course other royals should be honored by posting their Royal Crest.

Of course any Polish banner should be red with gold lettering.

One other interesting point in history, that seems timely at this moment in our history. Polish Royals were typically elected by the people, and title for the purpose of rule was not passed down from the king to his descendants. Descendants remained in prominent positions of power, but for elevation to the highest levels of government and rule, they had to be reelected by the people. Some call it the first democracy. One thing I liked, and I occasionally miss today, if the king and top rulers identified treason or malfeasance in people in the government, they could put them to death immediately.

(all true, but offered hear in jest)

Polish, that explains a LOT!

My step dad's family is polish but they were smithys so no royal crest for him. His last name is super common, we have found out with merting many people of the same name all over the USA. His last name is schmidt

Hmmmm….

Of course you are a good friend so I consider that lightly and meant in humor. But do you know the truth behind all the Polish jokes?

Everyone knows Hitler and his team tried to exterminate the Jews, 6 million of them lost. Almost nobody knows that 2/3 of those Jews were also Polish. Poland always had and has lived in Judeo-Christian harmony, with an equally peaceful Ottoman/Muslim population as well (not radical Islam). All peaceful, educated people. In addition, there were another 4 million Christian and other Polish people exterminated. Hitler really didn’t have any hate for the Jews, that came from Himler, but Hitler carried it out because he wanted the land for further German expansion. The people were just in the way. So as he waged war, he tried to exterminate the people, not conquer them.

Towards the end of the war, Stalin had similar desires for the land. When Stalin and Russia coupled with Germany to overtake Poland, Stalin had all of the military and the Polish leadership put in prison in Russia. School teachers, city councilman and mayors, college professors, the leaders of industry, Government officials, etc. Anyone in a leadership position was removed or killed. Cut off the head of the snake as they say. They wanted everybody else as slave labor.

Backing up to the original thought of Polish jokes, that was propaganda formed and disseminated by Hitler and his team in the early 1930s, so people would not object as much to the massacre of Poles.

Towards the end of the war, when Russia approached Germany through Poland from the east, and the allies were attacking German from the west and south, all the allies coordinated with the viral Polish resistance to support them in a well planned internal uprising. It was planned and approved by all. When the Polish resistance enacted this uprising, Stalin and FDR sat on their hands and let the Poles be massacred. The Polish leadership held by Russia was in Katyan. Google the Katyn Massacre. They were all murdered en masse, brutally, like the massacre scene of Americans in the battle of the bulge movie. None of the allies wanted strong Polish leadership.

Of course Britain was still beat up from the beating they took before and during the war, but when they learned the allies were leaving the Polish resistance to be slaughtered, they mobilized their Air Force and flew Lancaster bombers and B-17s over Poland to crush the German resistance. 50,000 poles armed primarily with handguns, resisted 250,000 well armed Germans, and they won once Britain stepped up.

I’m not calling you out, I took it in humor. But people who truly believe the Polish are uneducated fools? They are, in fact, themselves the fools, because they swallowed Hitler and Himler‘s propaganda, hook line and sinker! Did you know that when Hitler took power, they stopped teaching “history“ in schools, and instead they taught “social science.” Think about it…

Sorry if I jumped too hard, I have been in the middle of Polish and family stuff, real estate stuff here, and there, for the last few weeks, and I guess I was a little sensitive.

Edit: afterthought, Why were the British so loyal to the Polish? Google the British 303 squadron, a/k/a the “Kosciusko” squadron. That “British” fighter squadron of Spitfires and Hawker Hurricanes was entirely manned by displaced Polish pilots, mechanics, etc.. They had the highest number of kills, and the highest kill ratio of all British squadrons during the war.

Here’s another history question: in all of the United States’ wars and conflicts (like Vietnam), there were only two countries that had soldiers boots-on-the-ground every single time. Who were the two countries, and what was the difference between them?
