TRS Event TRS 25th Anniversary Fall Adventure - Land Between The Lakes - September 5th – 8th, 2024

Question for those that know Turkey Bay... how old do you have to be to operate a truck there?

AJ

Well holey crap am I behind on this thread!!! I guess this is what happens when all one ever does it work and sleep... Going back to Jim's thread about sponsors, for whatever unbeknownst reason I get pop-ups while scrolling through my Facebook feed from certain auto-cites. So far I've seen Jagg, Summitt and Panda Motorworks. As I was scrolling through these ads, because why not look at the kids toys they showcase on them, and was thinking how about seeing if they can be a sponsor or somehow provide a donation such as gift certificate... Not sure on the Panda one though, that one I think popped up because there is a little 3 year old at one of the homes I visit for her older brother and she calls me Panda instead of Amanda.

And yes, sometime I need to get a second, more fuel efficient vehicle to be a daily. Oh well, only money.

Careful with that. Get two and they might start multiplying.

Well I'm at LBL now. Got to the camp site early so I could get a good spot. Evidently I wasn't the only one with that plan haha. There was already about 15 to 20 rigs here. A whole group of Subi guys a couple jeeps and some others scattered. But this is a cool group camp spot. Has several picnic tables and a vault toilet. Not best for ladies haha. But it's right on the lake. Plenty big to accommodate 100+ rigs. But camp is setup and fire os burning. Tomorrow I will get out and explore. Colsen Hollow Group Camp. They are expecting about 84 and a few here said they didn't even know about the event. So we will see how many make it. Right now I'm not only the only Ranger. I'm the only Ford period. I'll upload some pictures when I get home with some better service.

Well I ended up being only Ranger at the event. Was a guy in a new Bronco who came down from Illinois. He went with the group at Turkey Bay. I was able to scout some easy roads and see some more cool sites. Finally did the Bisin Elk loop too. (Missed it last year) it's got me excited for our event this year.

The camp site was huge. Ranger said it was for 200 campers and $40 a night. All primative with a vault tolet. They had about 80 rigs there with plenty of room to spend out. Even a few with camper trailers who brought a generator.

I think Eric and I were at that campground on Thursday last year. Nice place... nice view over the lake.

Time To Register For The 25th Anniversary Adventure!

This year we will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary at the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL) in Kentucky from September 5th-8th, 2024. This isn't an event that targets off-roaders. This has something for everyone whether you're in a 4x4 or 2WD. If you're looking for some great off-roading you can hit the Turkey Bay OHV area, or you could check out some of the challenging unmaintained forest roads in the area. But there's a ton more to see and do. There are numerous sites to see including the Elk & Bison Prairie, Homeplace 1850s Working Farm, and Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory. The Fort Donelson Civil War fort and Casey Jones Distillery are also nearby. If you're bringing the family, the Prizer Point KOA campground (our host campground) has a pool, boat rentals, fishing, basketball and volleyball courts, and other activities to keep the family entertained. When we did this last year we simply split up into groups based on interest, and then met back up at the campground later in the evening to socialize and have dinner.

In addition to all of these activities, TRS will be hosting a scavenger hunt. You'll get a list of what to look for when you arrive, and whoever finds (takes a photo of) the most items on the list wins a door prize. Speaking of door prizes, this year our sponsors will be providing us with LMC Truck gift cards, LED light bars, air pumps, and more.

Let's not forget about the pizza! Over the last several years we have been providing campfire baked pizzas to order for our participants. These are true pizzas made on a crust with toppings of your choosing and fire baked to perfection! These may truly be the best pizza you will ever have. Heck, just hanging out by a campfire with my TRS family and eating these pizzas are worth the trip to me.

Register:

On the event page it has said that registration will begin on May 1st, and today's that day.

We've been doing campfire pizzas for the past few years, and they have been a huge success, but UncleGump has been footing the bill for them.

This year we will be charging a $15.00 registration fee. That fee will include:
  • Campfire Pizza
  • TRS 25th Anniversary Key Chain
  • TRS 25th Anniversary Decal
  • Door Prize Ticket
  • 25th Anniversary Banner Under Your Forum Name
The registration fee is $15.00 + $5.00 for each additional person. Children under 5 years old are free. You do not need to include them in the number of people attending.

Deadline to register is Friday August 23, 2024

Deadline to register is Friday August 23, 2024. We will be on the road in the following days which is why I want to know who will be attending and how much pizza supplies to bring before we leave.

For more information, directions, camping information, photos, or to register, visit the event page at:

This is a great opportunity to get together and hang out with other Ford Ranger enthusiasts and it doesn't matter if you have an off-road truck, or a street truck. There's something for everyone!!

I look forward to seeing you there!!

I have some vacation time scheduled for those days!

Don't know how well MAB3L will do offroad, but I'm sure I could tell you all about the fuel economy I got on the way there!

Come and enjoy! The majority of the roads we travel are perfectly fine for stock rwd vehicles. It’s a fun time.

I'm in a holding pattern for now. Have the leave set aside, but don't know if I'm going to have the truck able to make the trip. Soon as I know it's good, I'll get registered.

I am registered, David is coming this year :)
