Uh oh…

My afternoon plans just changed. I went outside to change the oil and check everything for tomorrow’s drive. If it looks serious, I’ll be coming in the Road Ranger
Well, as bad as it looked, keep in mind I haven’t washed it in probably two months, and when I checked the rear end, it was only down about a shot glass or two of gear oil. I filled it and I’m going to bring some extra gear oil and my push pull pump and take my chances.
After that decision, I changed the oil and checked everything else. Glad I did, everything was a little bit low Including the tires. I usually do better routine maintenance, but I guess I was focused on the other one for the nationals.
I don’t want to say the interior was cluttered, but I picked up the important things and then blew it out with the leaf blower instead of bothering with the vacuum. I’ve done it before, it works amazingly well.
Then I washed it from top to bottom. I’ll let it dry overnight, pack my suitcase tonight, and then load some tools for whatever in the morning and head out when I head out. I’ll post an ETA.
Lincoln prepared for the trip in a different way:
I’ll throw the cat in the hat in the washing machine before I leave.
