TRS Event TRS 2023 Fall Adventure - Land Between The Lakes

I'm gonna try and get out to LBL to do some trail scouting in the next few weeks. I was wondering who all was planning on doing some trail riding? Also how rough do yall want to go? I know the trails are numbered. 100s are the easiest, 200s a little harder, and 300s can get extremely off camber. Just trying to get an idea of what people are interested in. Plus there is an OHV park Turkey Bay. Would yall want to go there pr just stay on the FS roads? My truck as yall know is only on 33s with a 2.5 level up front and 1.5 add a leaf in the back. So I won't be able to scout some of the more extreme stuff alone. So of anyone wants to join on these scouting trips let me know.

Unless someone chimes in otherwise, I would stick with no more than a medium level trail or less. Outside of Eric, I don't know if anyone is bringing anything capable of doing more than that. Jim might bring TRS2 or he might just bring TRS3 so he doesn't have to trailer anything. IIRC, Turkey bay is $20 for 1-3 days of riding. I'm not privy to the plan, so I'm not even sure if an off road park is even being entertained as a group function.

From whatI saw, anyone can do 100's. Maybe plan on a ride on some 200's with maybe some 100's. If there is a 300 that isn't much harder than a 200, throw it in. If someone does some of that on Friday and wants more difficult on Saturday, then entertain some 300's.

Are you ok?

Almost

I should have proofread that before hitting save. The typos are corrected now.

Just trying to be considerate of others regarding trail difficulty. I'm really hoping we'll have a good turnout to this event and have enough variety if activities that anyone with ANY RBV can have a good time and feel like part of the group.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Maybe set up 2 different routes. A stock friendly route and one for people wanting something more difficult. Hopefully I can get out there soon. I have a route my group likes but it's mostly 300 roads and not at all stock friendly haha. But I will make sure I can find some that everyone maybe even 2wd can do so no one is left out.

The 2wd people will have opportunities on 100's with the scavenger hunt.

I would be up to some trail riding. probably stick to 100's or maybe some 200s depending on how rough they are. I do have to drive it back to Indiana lol

Awe come on! We were on some pretty gnarly trails in Attica and did just fine! Never mind that we didn’t do it on purpose!

Hey all!

It's been a while since I've been in here.
I no longer have the 93, rolled it. Now have a 96 on 40's

My usual group down here in SETX is getting smaller, might try to make this fall run with y'all.
I'm originally from Southern Illinois, a not-so-little-anymore town called Marion so I know where LBL is. Unfortunately, I've never wheeled there before.

My current ride is a 96 Ranger Supercab, 4.0 OHV Auto.
Have a 35 spline 9" with 5.13's and a Grizzzly locker out back,
Front is a full width D44 that's been fully trussed, cut n turned with a D50 dropout, same 5.13's and Grizzly up front.
AutoFab "D44 to Ranger" beam pivot brackets.
I hope to have a set of D44 RCV's by that time.
I've got an antiwrap bar on the rear, 12" coilovers on the front, hoops made by Camburg, Coilovers by Big Shocks.

Engine, Transmission and Transfercase are all stock.
Will try to post more about my ride sometime soon... I have lots of photos regarding the build.

Bring it on! I want to see that truck. Would be nice to see you do a build overview thread in our forum with pictures and specs, also.

Wow! I just spent half an hour catching up (skimming all the dialogue). This is what happens when we have to work. 😆

In jumping on the food agenda, if it’s permitted I wouldn’t mind trying to make some pizza dough for maybe pan or stuff crusts. Then this morning I decided to make some biscuits with sausage gravy because that’s just what us hood farm wives do on the weekend 😂. I proposed to Justin and my dad about maybe a communal biscuits and sausage grave breakfast. I make the biscuits. My dad has been dabbling in sausage. Just an idea I’m throwing out. This is of course, all written in sand, since my work had to put a wrench in it the planning gears.

I freaking love biscuits and sausage gravy!!!

Sign me up for some biscuits and gravy...

I did an update to the attendance list...

Fast Eddie had to cancel
