TRS 2021 Fall Off-Road Round-Up

That was me. @97RangerXLT didn't trust our route and found his own way out.

I dragged on enough things with 33's going out that way. Glad I was able to take it slow. Your 31's and open rear end had to have been a fun ride.

I cleared a lot more than I thought I would. My transfer case most definitely needs a skid plate though.

It didn’t really hit anything on that particular adventure but it did make ground contact a couple of times during the hill climbs at the sand pit.

Unfortunately, the only thing I’ve found available is the factory plate. I would prefer something heavier. Something is better than nothing. So, I do need to get on that. The holes are there in the frame. I just need the plate and some hardware.

No chance on getting something fabricated? I don;t mean to oversimplify, but it's pretty basic and shouldn't take a lot of hours?

Possibly but I would still need an example for the fabricator. Since someone else would have to do the welding, they would need something to work with and get/very dimensions.

Mock it up with cardboard and accurate dimensions. Then take the cardboard model to a fab shop.

Right, and if you need to build down from the frame to clear the case, do it with wood or cheap aluminum. Carboard's likely to flimsy for vertical mockup/dimensions. The cardboard would really just indicate the size of the plate you want. Glue it all together, test fit one last time, take it to the fab shop and ask "how much?". At most, you've invested in some wood, cardboard and glue before biting the bullet.

None us got lost in the woods! I have no idea what you speak of!

Unless you are talking about the 30 minutes or so I spent trying to get out of the quarry... Believe it was @97ranger xlt that was with me for that little adventure. Or maybe it was @fastpakr...
Oh we were. Had to change directions like 3 times before that video haha. I remembered you guys talking about taking the creek till an opening. So when we found it used the same technique till we started seeing orange arrows again. Haha popped out at the tubes and that was cool

Last year, they didn't have those orange arrows and flags. They made it much easier to get around this year.

I remember two years ago looking for an alternate route out of the quarry... If I remember correctly... there wasn't an easier way.

There wasn't and isn't because the quarry perimeter road doesn't make a complete circle and that small lake is in the way.

I didn't know that... I know there were several trails leading away from the actual quarry... and they were kinda tight and wicked.

FIFY

Jim and I were about to head back there when I said "Let's watch Little Bob climb this ledge first.". That was the end of that.

At one point we ended up over behind our campsite haha. Had to turn around and try a new way. Then some how we ended up in the woods. Randy was leading then he stopped at a mud hole that was probably 3 to 3 1/2 ft ruts haha so then we turned around again and that's where the video starts. Guess we should have stuck with the group. But it was all good. We made it back in time for that awesome pizza Gump and Eric prepared for everyone.

The ones we fumbled around were interesting but we made it through. The only two I rerouted from was the one with the rock climb in the tubes and the other where I watched Ericphoto drop about a foot.

I can work on that. I'll need to take a gander at the frame tomorrow to get some ideas. I think I remember seeing some holes in the cross member just ahead of the transfer case I could tie into as well.

Who ending up winning the prize for farthest traveled to round-up?
