Hi folks,

I think I have done the troubleshooting on the RABS on the Ranger, and determined I have a bad ABS Hydraulic Unit. Please confirm...

1. Both ABS and Brake (RED) lights are on
2. Seeing a code 4 (4 flashes, including the long flash) when in diagnostic mode
3. Cleaned contacts at RABS Hydraulic Unit, Fluid, and rear speed sensor
4. Checked resistance of rear speed sensor - within spec.

Thanks!

That is the code I had too. I bought a used valve on ebay for $20 and it works great. All is normal again. I also flushed the entire system with new fluid. The (original!) fluid was black and I bet the contamination ruined the control valve.

Thanks! I also noticed that the brake fluid is dark - I think I'll do the same, and flush it....

Muchly appreciated!
